LuaBill — Installation guide

Windows: Installation und erster Start

LuaBill für Windows x64 enthält Python 3.12, PySide6 / Qt 6.12 und Mustang. Python muss nicht zusätzlich installiert werden. Python führt die App aus; PySide6/Qt zeichnet Fenster, Menüs und Tabellen. Diese private Laufzeit gehört nur zu LuaBill und ersetzt kein vorhandenes System-Python. Programmierkenntnisse sind nicht nötig. Unterstützt werden Windows 10 ab Version 1809 und Windows 11.

Starten Sie LuaBill-Setup-0.1.10-win64.exe. Die Installation erfolgt für Ihr Benutzerkonto, normalerweise unter %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\LuaBillDesktop.
Wählen Sie bei Bedarf Desktop-Verknüpfung erstellen. Diese Option ist zunächst ausgeschaltet. Die separate Option für .luabill-Dateien ist zunächst eingeschaltet.
Öffnen Sie LuaBill über das Startmenü, die Desktop-Verknüpfung oder eine zugeordnete .luabill-Datei. Falls bereits eine andere Standardanwendung gewählt ist, ändern Sie diese über die Windows-Dateieigenschaften.

Für die Dokumenterstellung zusätzlich installieren

Die Oberfläche kann sofort gestartet werden. Für Import, Berechnung und Dokumenterstellung werden folgende externe Programme benötigt:

MiKTeX oder TeX Live mit lualatex, texlua und den LaTeX-Paketen der Vorlage. Die Programme müssen über PATH erreichbar sein.
Noto Sans oder DejaVu Sans als Unicode-Schrift; Arial ist die Ausweichschrift unter Windows.
Java 17 oder neuer für XML-Prüfung, XRechnung und ZUGFeRD. Wählen Sie Windows, x64, JRE oder JDK; aktivieren Sie bei der Installation PATH oder JAVA_HOME.
Ghostscript für PDF-Komprimierung; für ZUGFeRD PDF/A-3 erforderlich.

Mustang ist bereits enthalten. Für normale PDF-Dateien ist Ghostscript optional; ohne Ghostscript entfällt nur die zusätzliche Komprimierung. Für ZUGFeRD ist es erforderlich. Wählen Sie auf der Downloadseite Windows 64 bit.

Die Links im Installer öffnen offizielle Webseiten. Laden und installieren Sie fehlende Werkzeuge einmal selbst. LuaBill zeigt fehlende Komponenten mit Zweck und Downloadlink an. Öffnen Sie Hilfe → Komponenten und Installation für die Prüfung und prüfen Sie nach der Installation erneut. Nach Änderungen an PATH starten Sie LuaBill neu.

Projekte und Ergebnisse

Öffnen Sie über Datei ein Beispiel, ersetzen Sie die Angaben und speichern Sie Ihr eigenes .luabill-Projekt. Mit F7 prüfen Sie die Summen, mit F9 erstellen Sie PDF/XML. Nach Erfolg öffnet sich das PDF; die Ergebnisanzeige bietet weitere Schaltflächen zum Öffnen.

Projekte gehören außerhalb des Programmordners. Vorgeschlagen werden Dokumente/LuaBill/Projects und getrennt davon Dokumente/LuaBill/Output. Der zuletzt verwendete Projektordner wird gemerkt. Ausgabeordner und die Option „neben dem Projekt“ sind lokale Programmeinstellungen und werden nicht in .luabill gespeichert.

Die Deinstallation erhält Ihre Projekte, Ergebnisse und Benutzereinstellungen. Eine frühere LuaBill-Installation und die Dateizuordnung von .bill werden durch diesen Installer nicht ersetzt.

Windows: install and start

LuaBill for Windows x64 includes Python 3.12, PySide6 / Qt 6.12 and Mustang. No separate Python installation is needed. Python runs the app; PySide6/Qt draws its windows, menus and tables. This private runtime belongs to LuaBill and does not replace an existing system Python. No programming skills are needed. Windows 10 version 1809 or newer, or Windows 11, is required.

Run LuaBill-Setup-0.1.10-win64.exe. It installs for your user account, normally in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\LuaBillDesktop.
Select Create a desktop shortcut if wanted; this option starts unchecked. The separate .luabill file association option starts checked.
Start LuaBill from the Start menu, the desktop shortcut or an associated .luabill file. If Windows already uses another default application, change it in the file's Windows properties.

Additional tools for document generation

The interface starts immediately. Importing, calculating and generating documents also require external tools:

MiKTeX or TeX Live, including lualatex, texlua and the template's LaTeX packages. The executables must be available on PATH.
Noto Sans or DejaVu Sans for Unicode text; Arial is the Windows fallback.
Java 17 or newer for XML validation, XRechnung and ZUGFeRD. Select Windows, x64 and JRE or JDK; enable PATH or JAVA_HOME during installation.
Ghostscript for PDF compression; required for ZUGFeRD PDF/A-3.

Mustang is already included. Ghostscript is optional for normal PDFs; without it, only the additional compression is skipped. It is required for ZUGFeRD. Select Windows 64 bit on its download page.

The installer links open official websites. Download and install missing tools yourself once. LuaBill lists missing components with their purpose and download link. Open Help → Components and installation to check manually, then check again after installation. Restart LuaBill after changes to PATH.

Projects and results

Open an example in File, replace the details and save your own .luabill project. Press F7 to check totals and F9 to create PDF/XML. The PDF opens after successful generation; the result panel also provides buttons for opening files and their folder.

Keep projects outside the program folder. Suggested locations are Documents/LuaBill/Projects and, separately, Documents/LuaBill/Output. The last project folder is remembered. The output folder and the option to save beside the project are local app preferences, never stored in .luabill.

Uninstalling preserves your projects, output files and user preferences. This installer uses a separate folder from earlier LuaBill installations and does not replace the existing .bill association.

LaTeX-Pakete / LaTeX packages

LuaLaTeX, fontspec, fontawesome, babel (EN/DE/FR/IT/RU), csquotes, tikz, fancyhdr, enumitem, hyperref, soul, lastpage, textpos, luacode, ltablex, draftwatermark, eso-pic.

MiKTeX: Pakete über MiKTeX Console installieren. / Install packages using MiKTeX Console.

Source code and the build recipe are included in the application's source folder. The source project also supports macOS and Linux.
